  • The Gannon Distribution Company of Vietnam (“Gannon Distribution”) is a trading company engaged in the distribution of products from around the world into the Asean marketplace. Included within its portfolio of approximately 300 products are such brands as L'Oreal, Lancôme and Maybelline cosmetics, M&M/Mars confectionary goods, Stanley tools and hinges, Mohawk carpeting and Wyeth milk and formula products. While operations are currently centered in Vietnam and Cambodia, expansion into the markets of Thailand is currently underway.
  • The Gannon Pacific Realty Company (“Gannon Pacific Realty”), is engaged in the development of retail and commercial office space, serviced apartments, condominiums and hotels within Thailand.

Working in concert with local partners, Gannon Distribution goes well beyond merely the wholesale of products, providing sophisticated market analysis …product use and application training…consumption behavior tracking and analysis….product marketing programs ….retail staff training…shipping and inventory management…and, as applicable, post-installation product maintenance.

Gannon Distribution has been actively engaged in these activities since 1994, and has to date acquired both an organization and a detailed knowledge of the market that is unrivaled.

Gannon Distribution maintains its home office in Ho Chi Minh City and a regional office in Hanoi. For logistical and banking support as well as port facilities, Gannon Distribution maintains operations within Hong Kong.

Gannon Distribution will be commencing a similar initiative in Thailand in the near future.

 

How is Gannon Distribution Organized?

Gannon Distribution is operated within four divisions:

  • Children's Entertainment and Toys Division, which distributes products such as Little Tykes and a full range of Disney licensed products.
  • Fast Moving Consumables Division, which distributes products such as L'Oreal, Maybelline, and Cross Pens.
  • Construction and Home Materials Division, which distributes products such as Mohawk carpeting and Stanley tools.
  • Food Services Division, which distributes products such as Certified Angus Beef, Kraft Foods, Wyeth powdered milks and infant formulas, and the entire range of M&M/Mars candies.

Gannon Distribution in Vietnam

Gannon Distribution's interests in Vietnam stem from the long-standing involvement by the principal of Gannon International through Operation Smile International. Operation Smile is a non-profit organization based in Virginia providing reconstructive surgery to children around the world.

William Franke was instrumental in organizing and funding the first Operation Smile medical mission to Vietnam in 1989. Since that initial trip, Operation Smile has provided annual medical assistance to approximately two thousand Vietnamese children. As a consequence, the leadership of Gannon Distribution was involved in Vietnam when few other American individuals or organizations were. Unlike many companies now interested in Vietnam, Gannon Distribution's presence is based on these longstanding friendships and relationships.

Capitalizing upon the expertise of the overall organization in realty development, Gannon Pacific Realty has commenced the development of selective realty developments within Southeast Asia.
