Gannon Employees Receive Awards from St. Louis Apartment Association

St. Louis, MO

Deborah Kast, Vice President of Gannon International’s Realty division, received a Multi-Site Supervisor of the Year award from the St. Louis Apartment Association (SLAA). Ms. Kast was one of a number of Gannon employees recognized at the 2007 Rising Star Awards Banquet, SLAA’s premiere event of the year, held in St. Louis on April 27, 2007. Other recipients included: Chris Marlo, Multi Site Maintenance Supervisor of the Year, James Stevens, Maintenance Tech of the Year, 401+ Units, Darrell Arft, Maintenance Supervisor of the Year, 1- 200 Units, and Jennifer Pollmann, Marketing Director of the Year.

The St. Louis Apartment Association was chartered in 1976 for the purpose of advancing the general welfare of the multifamily housing industry within the metropolitan St. Louis area. The organization is actively involved in developing, organizing and conducting education programs and seminars and other educational forums for the benefit of the members and the industry. Kast, who has worked for Gannon since 1996, was also recipient of a Rising Star of the Year award from SLAA in 2002. She spoke of how pleased she was to be honored again this year: “It's a thrill to be recognized by the professionals in the industry; however, the award was possible because of the excellent staff and support we have at Gannon Properties. It makes my job so much easier when you're supervising the caliber of people that have been with our company for so long.”

The five awards presented to Gannon employees were among 34 given that evening among 180 nominations drawn from 16 management companies. Among other criteria, winners are based on a point system, SLAA involvement, and challenges confronted during the past year. Held at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet, the SLAA banquet attracted more than 500 attendees.
